Alana is Program Coordinator of Semester in Detroit whose mission is to engage U-M undergraduates in substantive, sustained, and reciprocal relationships with the people and communities of the City of Detroit. The program partners with more than 20 different community organizations, civic leaders, and small businesses to create a project-driven experience. By living, learning, and working in the city, students engage with community leaders in transformative work — strengthening themselves as well as the wider region.
