Wayne Ramocan

Wayne is a Build graduate, native Detroiter, community advocate, and cultural ambassador. With four years working with the Skillman Foundation Good Neighborhoods, he was responsible for launching the Live in Osborn initiative to revitalize a 5 block area and curb population loss in the neighborhood. He has served with local and national organizations: Boys Hope Girls Hope, Young Nonprofit Professionals Network, Detroit Opera House’s Bravo Bravo, and Detroit Food Academy. He hosts the City Lobby series at the Urban Consulate Detroit which is an experiment to share the best ideas shaping urban life in the 21st century. He is active musician contributing to Detroit music since 1999 and has been featured in i-D Magazine, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Model D, WDET, and Model D for his work in culture and the community. He studied Communications at Wayne State University and is a first-generation American with roots in Bahamas and Jamaica.
